Writing for the Future: Content that works for your Customer and AI!

Reading time: 4 minutes

In today’s world, writing for AI has become just as important as writing for your customers.
You have spent hours working on your new blog, refreshed your product pages, and your website is finally ready to go live. But then you suddenly ask yourself: who am I actually writing my copy for? Is it for my customers, for Google, or perhaps even for AI?

The answer is actually very simple: you are still writing for people. But the way those people find information is changing significantly these days. AI tools are increasingly providing direct answers to questions without anyone visiting your website. And if you handle this smartly, your content will be used, shared, and found more often.

In this blog, you will read how to create content that works for your reader and is ready for the future!

The ‘Inverted Pyramid’: Give the answer immediately

Many entrepreneurs make the mistake of slowly building up their copy with an atmospheric, long introduction. This no longer works online. Both your visitor and an AI bot are in a hurry and scan your page because they are looking for the core message.

Apply the principle of the inverted pyramid and start with the most important information.

If someone searches for: “How do I create a webshop”, then you can place the following on your website:

Creating a webshop can be done in a few steps: choose a platform, add products, and set up your payment methods.

Structure is the secret weapon

Nowadays, visitors viewing your website have a shorter attention span. This means that long blocks of text are simply skipped. Structure not only helps your reader but also ensures that AI understands your texts better. Work with:

  • Clear subheadings
  • Short paragraphs
  • Lists

💡 Tip: Use our Section element to visually structure your pages. A clear layout creates a sense of calm for the visitor.

Atomic content

AI often extracts isolated fragments from a page to use as an answer. This means that your paragraphs must be understandable even without the rest of the pages. We call this atomic content.

Test yourself: can you remove a random paragraph from your text and would an outsider still understand what it says? Is the answer ‘no’? Then make it more concrete by mentioning the subject again, for example.

Claim your authority

Why would a customer (or AI) believe you? Google and AI models look at EEAT:

Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness .

Example:

  • Weak: ”I help entrprenuers with their website”
  • Strong: ”Over the past three years, I have helped more then 50 starting entrepreneurs build their first Webador website.”

The second sentence immediately inspires confidence; it demonstrates experience and results. Show on your website who you have worked with and what results you have achieved. That is information that an AI model recognizes as proof of your expertise.

The Balance: Writing for People and Systems

This is, of course, where the challenge lies. What works well for humans (storytelling, nuance, emotion) does not always work the same way for AI (clarity, structure, straightforward answers). Therefore, it is important to find a good balance here so that they reinforce each other:

  • Clear text → better for your reader
  • Good structure better for findability
  • Concrete answers better for AI

What does this mean for you?

Take a fresh look at your pages this week and ask yourself the following 4 questions:

  1. Do I answer my client’s main question within 5 seconds?
  2. Is my text easy to scan?
  3. Do my lyrics sound human and honest?
  4. Do I clearly demonstrate why I am the expert in my field?

Ready for the future?

The world of online information is changing faster than ever, but don’t be intimidated by terms like AI and algorithms. Ultimately, it comes down to one thing: providing value to your visitor. By keeping your copy clear, scannable, and honest, you make your website attractive not only to smart systems but, above all, to your customers.
